Why do I need to vote if we don’t plan on striking?

A Strike Vote is a powerful tool. It shows both management and the public we are unified and that we are serious about getting a good contract. If you recall, the pilot Strike Vote had a 98% participation rate with 99% of the pilots voting FOR the strike. They did not want to go on strike either – but they knew that a strong Strike Vote would let management know that they were serious about getting a fair contract. It was after the strike vote that showed the pilots were unified that the company moved to give the pilots the contract they now enjoy.
