Meeting with Crew Scheduling
Meeting with Company Negotiating Team
This week, we had our first official meetings with management. Ground rules were established through a protocol agreement. We also discussed and resolved a few clean-up issues that needed to be corrected in the current contract. Representing the company were:
Karen Berry, Vice-President, Labor Relations and the lead negotiator
Robin Sparling, Vice-President, In-Flight Services
Dan Herring, Managing Director of Crew Planning and Schedulin
Adrien Gonzalez, Senior Analyst, Finance
Meeting with Crew Scheduling
Issues that many of you raised in the negotiations survey were the assignment of reserves, trip requests, and the handling of open time. Managing Director, Dan Herring set up a meeting with us to go over how Crew Scheduling administers these processes. Joining Dan were Brad O’Handley, Terrance Chariandy, and Destin Cadelinia. The meeting was productive and shed light on these concerns that are important to you. We look forward to working with Dan during these negotiations.
What’s Next?
The Negotiating Committee with the MEC, will be meeting with the company for a joint training the week of January 9th in Reston, VA. This training’s purpose is to facilitate the negotiations process. Conducting the training will be Senior Mediator, Pat Sims of the National Mediation Board.
