Honolulu & Los Angeles Meetings
Negotiations Survey
Honolulu & Los Angeles Meetings
Your Negotiating Committee recently completed membership meetings in Los Angeles on August 3rd and 4th, and in Honolulu on August 17th and 18th. Mahalo to all of you who came to the membership meetings. Your negotiating team was very happy to see the great turnout at the meetings and hear your feedback and interest in this round of negotiations.
At each of the meetings, we gave an overview of the Company’s financial health and the pilots’ negotiations status, explained how negotiations works in our industry under the Railway Labor Act, and went through some industry comparisons with other airlines. In many areas our contract leads the industry. However, it was also clear to everyone that there are areas of the contract that need improvement. We then opened the floor to an interactive discussion with the attendees and asked for ideas on ways to improve our contract and work life. There were several common issues that surfaced at each meeting, which will be considered by the Negotiating Committee.
Negotiations Survey
Earlier this week we sent out the negotiations survey. Again, we were very happy to see the amount of interest and the level of participation in the survey so far. Completing the survey is extremely important as it will determine the bargaining priorities of your Negotiating Committee. The last day to complete your survey will be Monday, August 29th. If you have not received a survey link, or if you know of any Hawaiian Flight Attendant who did not receive a survey link, please contact a Local AFA Officer.
What’s Ahead
We will be getting the results of the survey at the end of August, which will help us plan the bargaining priorities and our opening proposals to management.
